Lynne Lafave, PhD

Co-Principal Investigator

Lynne Lafave is an associate professor in the Department of Health and Physical Education at Mount Royal University in Calgary Alberta.

She holds a doctorate in nutritional sciences and her research focuses on nutrition, physical activity, and well-being initiatives in early childhood education and care.

Role with Garden2Plate

Lynne works jointly with the rest of the Garden2Plate team and community partners to provide evidence-based support for the development and delivery of gardening and nutrition programming in the early childhood education and care setting.

Sonya Jakubec, PhD, RN

Co-Principal Investigator

Sonya Jakubec is a professor in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Mount Royal University. She is a community mental health nurse and researcher who studies the interconnection of supportive environments and wellbeing across the lifespan, concentrating on community and public health approaches to palliative care – including care for people experiencing structural vulnerabilities.
